For my warm weather brothers...

This guy is great too! Irish folk singer Terry Griffith. Hes a great guy, Ive knon him for years... He wrote this after Pittsburgh added a "drink tax" a few years back... He plays all over, maybe down near you.

I have a bit of drama going on outside but I came in to get warm and decided to check the board. So I only have a couple of minutes to browse the videos.
(I had a dear wander in that was hit by a car and the DNR is here right now.) Sad but she will be better off now.
Anyhow, Love that stuff. Nothing hotter than a chick sawing on a fiddle! And Man do I love that rug with the tree and the celtic knots. Any brother that enjoys a pint of Stout is golden in my book. The music is great too. Hell, I'd drive to Pittsburgh to see those groups.

Kiley that group you are forming sounds awesome. clamp that new camera to a guitar neck and grab some footage. The sound will need to be recorded by something else because the camera sucks at it. Great at footage from different angle but its not good for sound.

Hahaha, I didn't know if you guys would like that kind of music. Hey Von check out Rachel eddy and the Morgantown Rounders.
well I better get back outside. I'll finish watching/listening later. Thanks for posting those brother.

And yes Kiley he could be your bro. He even plays banjo

Man, if I posted all of my favorite bluegrass/neograss bands on here it would take all day....

Here's a few:

It could go on forever. Be still my heart to say the least.

TROY!!!! If that sucker showed up live man do not let him take it! loin that sucker out!!! hell ice that and ill take that meat... my punk ass buddies did not send me any deer meet this year (did get some jerky) no deer stew for joe this year:( ha ha ha ha
guess i have to wait on someone to get a little trigger happy down south and not be able to keep all that meat in their deep freeze!
if the DNR is there they should give a field tag and let you keep that sucker!

We've got 64 degrees & sunny in the forcast for New Years day! If The Norton was running, I'd be riding.
Happy New Years, Cheers!

Joe you're set if you can wait till you get here in July. I'll hook you up. I don't hunt myself but my nephew is crazy good.
Always stew meat and jerky around. Well, the jerky might be hard to come by because it disappears fast. ;D But yeah brother just one more reason to make the trip. As far as the injured deer go one of my best friends is a DNR officer and he usually takes the meat to give to a couple of families that need it. I had a big doe run into a woven fence about 3 weeks ago. She broke her neck and I had my buddy come out. We have all the meat we need so I figure it goes to a good cause.

Awesome music guys. Thanks for sharing. I love getting introduced to new music or turning someone on to something they've not heard. I'm waiting for the Mountain Fest schedule to come out so maybe we can do a house concert when you guys come. Mountain Fest always has music so I don't want to interfere with that. Anyhow, I'm also checking on some white water rafting. should be an awesome time what ever we do. I'll keep you guys posted so we can get a general census.

man that is awesome! ill be there!
we have buddies out this way that work for the state, they get to hunt (at night) in the local forest preserve areas... woud blow your mind the deer they take down... it is all done with 22 mag, and scopes, all of them are ex military shooters.
it is the only way that they can conrtol the deer propulations out here and keep them off the roads! all the meat is then brought to the local shelters... very cool
last year when i met him for a beer after he got done (7 am and he came by the shop) cause yo know i was still working he said that they took down over 100 deer that night! they use 22 mags cause they are quite and do not spook the neighbors, or travel too far. it is unreal how accurate these guys are.
i am not a hunter either, #1 i just can not bring myself to kill something when i really do not need to, and #2 i have the stomach of a 5 year old, i will yack and know it

I used to go out hunting wtih my buddies all the time, they look like rambo with all the guns and knives and here is me good ol chicago boy in missiouri, i have a camel pack with jim beam and diet coke and a BB gun, ha ha ha

last time i went we climbed up into this tree stand, i thought that we where climbing to see jesus himself with as high as this tree was... by the time i got up there i had to piss... so i did... they FLIPPED OUT... how the hell was i supposed to know that you can not piss where you hunt... after i got back on the ground i was sent back to the truck... while they where gone i got the pick up stuck in a huge mud hole... ya was a good day for me, but hey who buys a pick up without four wheel drive!

sorry so long just funny story

That's damn funny Joe! The best part is where you got their truck stuck. I'm still smiling :D. Did they make you buy all the beer that night? Hahahaha. Thanks for sharing man. I love the different roads this thread has taken us. Awesome stuff!

Hey boingk glad you liked the video. Do you get severe weather with those hail storms? Blue moon on NYE is cool!
Nah, no severe weather...it'll be a 90'F day with not a cloud in the sky then around 3 in the afternoon thunderclouds roll over and it dumps rain or hail. We did once get a lightning strike 2 feet away from our dormitory however, it left a smoking hole the size of a coke can in the ground. Go figure, thats the highlands for you...

22 mags...[SNIP!]...deer
Hell yeah JRK! Champion story, reminds me of my bro. He's a bit of a nut with his rifles and is a birlliant shot...I'm talking the size of a largish coin at a quarter mile. Never seen anything like it. I got myself a 1904 model 8mm Mauser, bit of a collectors piece but it shoots nicely. Jeez it kicks though, we're talking broken skin here...really gotta get a butt-pad. As for deer, you should come down here and go spotlighting for kangaroos! Or camels, we've got a big problem with them out west at the moment. Don't get me started on how weird this country is hahaha.

Cheers - boingk
