250 plus shipping. Located in Austin.

1979 XS750 Tank. Black original paint. Decals. Light rust on the weld lip.

Creamed by PO. All threads for petcocks are in good shape.

Comes with: Brand new cap. Pingel Petcock adapters (not mounted). All new mounting rubber. That's worth about $60 right there. Not to mention your time finding and waiting for these parts.

DOES NOT HAVE PETCOCKS. Original threads are in great shape. Unmodified for Pingel petcocks that fit the adapters.

Photos forthcoming.

NOTES: I decided to go a different direction with my bike. The paint is good but not perfect. I was planning to strip and repaint.

There is a very slight - VERY SLIGHT - dent in the front (by the forks). So slight I didn't notice it when I went to look at the tank and bought it. Otherwise, it in perfect shape metal-wise. As close as an NOS tank as one could find, without paying $400 on eBay.

If this doesn't sell here or Do The Ton in a few weeks, it's going on Ebay with the same price plus listing fee and shipping. Get it while it's cheaper.

PHOTOS to come.

Peace. :D

250 for a dented, rusted, poorly painted, KREEMED?!?(crap)!?!?! tank huh?

Yep I'm done with this vintage shit.

Not to be a jag but I bought mine on eBay for $75 with no dents, perfect interior (no rust and most importantly no Kreme) and it came with a pair of petcocks. Good luck to you

Ha. Yeah. Posted on another forum too.

The tank is really in great shape. Just not stored in a box, wrapped in cellophane, and devoid of fingerprints.

If it's too rich, don't buy it. If you find one on ebay for less money, and it's in good shape, definitely buy that one. I would have. The price reflects the extra parts and the condition. There are other tanks out there if you can find them.

The paint is OK but not perfect.

It's a great opportunity for someone to get a great, hard to find tank without hassle and knowing exactly what they are getting.

No sweat of my back, either way. I will sell it and I will get what I'm asking for it. No doubt about that.

Peace.

Shots two. The blems and extra parts (new rubber mounts, Pingel petcock adapters, and extra cap parts).

The ding in the right fron side. It's about a quarter/nickel size.
There is a slight crease on the left side but it's hard to see in person and in shots.
The paint on the top is egg shelling pretty badly. There is a fuel damage to the clear coat paint near the cap. Looks "matte" as best as I can describe it.

I took a dremel and buffer to the rust on the lip as described earlier. It cleaned up nicely. With a bit more sanding and fresh paint and this tank will be great.

If anyone has questions or wants more detail shots just let me know.

Peace. :D
