So I'm replacing the fork seals on my 1971 Honda CB500 k0 and after a long struggle removing my old seals that were infused to my lowers, I think I've bought the wrong replacements (couldn't even tell you what the old ones looked like, had to destroy them).

Or maybe I'm putting them in the wrong way? Every video I've seen shows them going right in, under the retaining clip lip. I just measured mine out and I don't see how they could fit below the retaining clip lip though.
I don't foresee the seals I bought going past that inner lip (very middle) and after measuring it seems like they'd have to. Again, Maybe I'm just doing it wrong, wouldn't be the first time.
