Forum needs a new General Heading.

Sorry for posting here to all (and attention Mods ) but ...

Where in this forum does one post very general questions /comments about Cafe Racers that do not fit anywhere else.?
eg: How do I gauge the performance of my Cafe CB550 SS ('76) against other CB550's?

What would be a good common method that would let us know how our bikes that we built compare performance wise to similar capacity bikes of similar vintage. Without racing.

I have no idea if my bike even performs as well as it did over thirty years ago but I would be keen to know.

The rest of the bits. What are your secret tricks? What help do you need? From sage advice to the most basic of question.

I wouldn't get too hung up on it though, this forum isn't like a lot of the other ones I visit, where you get flamed for absolutely everything.

This is 100% true. I control online community forums for bands for a living and this place is a dream compared to some of the S#@T that they flame and get grumpy over. I think I've only ever seen 1 or 2 snarky remarks here and even then they went unnoticed.

Hmmmm.... I'll have to give some thought to a 'performance matrix' for comparing like-bikes, but frankly, there are so many diverse makes and models represented here, for the most part there would be 2 or 3 samples for each bike.

Best bet is to start a thread on the performance of your particular make/model and see who it attracts.

I will give it some thought and do some "performance tests" and then post up in the LOUNGE I guess. (Doesnt quite feel the right place but whatever)

General idea is that its absolutely not a competitive thing. Keep it safe.

Just interested to discover for example how fast it might take the old girl ('76 CB550 SS) to get up to 100 kph (or 60mph.)

Needs a simple Benchmark so others can compare. Would not really matter what make, year or what CC the various bikes were.

BTW. Not sure if she will even do the ultimate goal yet (cos I havent tried.)
