Rose is my 77' Honda CB400F... my first bike
Found these two bikes on craigslist throughout me search over the last three to four months:

I am getting my M-Class May 1st after my motorcycle safety course, which waives my third party testing required by Michigan Law. I am starting to get the bug a little early and wanted to see what other people thought of the prices on these bikes. Both are running in "good" condition stated by the owners. Both are winterized in storage for the winter, so i know i might have a little time before they could potentially sell to someone else.

I am looking for my first bike to be reliable. My main goal is to have something i can ride and put a little effort into to make it my own through customization and not spend a bunch of tim trying to get the thing to run in the first place.

So.... what does everyone think of the bike selection?

I may get flamed for it, but I say go for the 550, if you're definitely getting one of those two. 750s are great bikes, 550's are just a little less common while being just as reliable and having equal parts availability. And less common means more easily personalized.

The 550 does look awesome for the price.... wish guy would return my emails :'(

get the 550.......
i've had em both plus a 750 with 550 triple tree and swing arm.......
see my avatar.....
550 handles much better, a little morre compact also............
fwiw....db

This is the second posting that I know of. I also was interested the first time it posted but gave up. Heck he's close. I ended bying one in Brighton Mi. 170 miles from the house. I am picking it up Sat. I cant wait!!!! ;D

MAKE SURE THEY HAVE A TITLE !!!!!!!!!! The last thing you need to get stuck with is a bike you can't ride.

Its pretty easy to obtain if you are willing to do some work. Its approx 75.00 out of pocket here in the Hoosier, and that would include the State Police coming out and doing a vin check and inspection. Prolly your best bet is to have it done on site before you hand over the Benjimens.
