Found this dude through the grapevine. Gotta love gearhead subculture!

Went to a guy's house early Saturday morning to see if he would paint a gas tank. I had no idea what was in store when he showed me his barns. Turns out this guy is a world class painter/restoration/fabricator/collector. He's an unassuming guy living in an unassuming house with an equally unassuming name sitting on millions of dollars in rare vintage cars, street rods, motorcycles, and lots of other cool stuff. What a morning!
Pic 1 is a line of incredible motorcycles, scooters, mopeds, motorized bicycles, bicycles, peddle cars, awards, and news clippings.
Pic 2 shows some of the detail and exquisite paint jobs he does.
Pic 3 is a Speedster with a 356ish race inspired nose put on by previous owner. Wicked cool ride!
Pic 4 The Man himself! The gold Bug is his plaything for next summer. He is going to drive it around to "show it off". It is all but complete. Detailing is incredible.

[*]This Jag is worth more than my house. True
[*]This Rolls was once part of the Queen's Court. It has discrete gold accents and exquisite leather upholstery and wood trim through out

The back wall has antique BB guns and military rifles displayed as well as military sabers. His two barns are like undiscovered museums. Did you know the Knights Templar built autos? No? Neither did I! The second yellow car, mid frame left is one such car complete with Maltese cross embossed on leather door guards. Behind it is a mannequin in dress uniform and ceremonial saber. Yeah, he has a sense of humor with the Saturn sweatshirt. Cool dude. I'll post pics when I return to pick up my tank. I actually found him through a couple of referrals that led me to his brother, who was backed up with work. He then told me to call up his older brother Darrell because "he does that kind of stuff". Ha!

I'll have to remember to photograph his '49 (?) H-D which blew my mind - and I am not a fan of the marque at all! :)

It's a family tradition started by his dad, Joe, who was a janitor at a big ALCOA aluminum plant here. I know, right? He and his two brothers helped his dad and it all passed to Darrell who is the only son to carry on this work professionally. The other two brothers paint in their spare time. They all have skills that took many years to develop, obviously. The cars and bikes that his dad did have plaques with his name, and Darrell's do as well. I was thinking, man, if it was me? I'd sell all that stuff off and spend the rest of my days on an island. Can't take it wit ya! :)

thats pretty cool. I thught that was this place down the street from my job... one of those places you just stumble across. Ill have to see if I can go by and get some pics to post
