From CL350 to CB500

Built my first cafe a year ago. Had so many mechanical problems that it spent more time with my mechanic than on the road. I had a guy offer me a trade. Decided it was in my best interest to go for it.

This is what I am getting:
A running CB500 with a CB550F motor. Everything PC'd and/or painted, new tires, etc.

Major things I have to come up with: New seat, Body work and paint on Tank, paint for seat, fork ears, front fender, and side covers (yes, side covers. I am one in a few that actually like them on cafes) and cash for misc parts (cables, speedo, chain, etc.)

I'm definately losing money on the deal and what I put into my CL350. I hate to let her go but I need a solid commuter. Deciding on either fabricating a seat from the pan and an old 550 tank, fiberglass seat, metal seat from one of the DTT memebers. Need to be cost efficient all at the same time. That's the part that blows!

Pics will be added soon.

Updated project pic. Just mock up. Missing fender and light.

A commuter with white wheels? Ha!

It does look pretty good!

Right! I know the goal is to DTT, but as a new rider with no previous experience, I figured I would start out with a pretty bike and drive her slow.
