Front and rear hoops the same?

Looking to put a 19x2.15 front laced wheel on my 71 cb350t with a GSXR front end. I can find rear wheels easy in that size. My question is the rear hoop and front hoop the same? The wheel will be relaced and I'll be using the cognito front hub.

CB350 (No "T") never had a 19 inch rear wheel....Not sure why you would do that...You may have Swing Arm clearance issues. IF it does fit, you will probably want to change the gearing too.

I think I worded my question a bit wrong. The stock front wheel is 18in and I would like to put a 19in wheel up front. I can find a 19in rear wheel off a Suzuki. So I was wondering is the rear wheel from a Suzuki can be laced to a front hub of the 350 twin.

New hub? Check
New Spokes? Check
New 19" rim/ why not. You can get one from MikesXS or Buchanan or other places too.

Forget trying to find an old wheel to give up its rim. just buy the rim you want and have Buchanans ship you matching spokes

Maybe bikes used 19 inch rims back in the day including most Suzuki GS and GT series bikes.

But if he is using a stock CB350 swing arm, the rim and tire may not fit diameter wise.....

Also, since stock is 18, the larger tire will reduce the effective gear ratio....Slower acceleration. The larger diameter increases the moment of inertia too, which also reduces acceleration.

Not saying don't do it, not even saying it won't fit. But you should check for fit and understand the consequences of the actions.

The ironic thing is, a 17 inch rear would allow a larger tire, for the fat tire look so many want, without clearance issues.

With any amount of work, any size rim/tire can be put on. I seen a Chevy Impala with 24 inch rims...They fit, he was driving it....doesn't make it the best idea though..

I was planing on doin 17s all around and using modern street tires. But I figured I'll have chain clearance issues. I'm doin the gSXR front end conversion but want the front and rear to be proportioned. You wouldn't happen to know what's the widest tire I can do on a rear, would you? I'm new to all this so I'm trying to ask as many questions as I can before I buy anything

The chain is the actual limiting factor. A 4.00 x 18 (or 17) (100 mm) is the widest that can be used without running into either chain or swingarm. Wide rear tires slow steering, making the bike handle slower (not nimble feeling). people do it all the time, but I learned I like responsive steering, Sort of preferring how a Miata handles rather than a Buick Electra 225.....but plenty of people like Buicks....

A 3.50 wide tire on a 17 inch rim will look larger that a 3.50 on an 18 inch rim, but still retain the lighter handling...IMO.

Even though tires have stated widths, they can vary in actuality as much as 3/4 of inch....So some 4.25 size tires may fit without rubbing, and some 4.00 will rub anyway.....

thanks for all your help. i ordered 2 wm3 18x2.15 hoops
and goin with 110/80 18 rear and 90/90 18 front. let me know if you see any issues with my choice.
