Front end swap for USD forks.

So, perhaps a stupid question. When swapping the front forks/front end what are the most important things to consider? I'm guessing the stem diameter and length but what else? Overall length of the fork from stem to axle I'm guessing to keep all the dimensions with trail etc similar to stock.

How do you go about deciding on a wheel?

What else? It's looks killer and I'm sure the performance upgrades are nice.

to keep it simple try to get the whole front end, will save you trying to fit a different wheel, get the spacing of new wheel right. fitting the brakes etc.

There are a couple of write ups out the but simply put you want to look at the stem diameter that matches your bike most often the stem length with be different so find triple tree that will work. Push out the usd triple tree stem, replace with your stem and voila now you have a triple tree that will fit your length. The important part is to make sure the bearing diameter sizes matches up old for new.

start hear looking for stem sizes. http://www.ohiocaferacers.com/OCRStemSizes.pdf

Someone will probably say it's been done to death but it's your bike. I personally like the look of it and want it for a cb750 bobber project I've got in mind. Yea it's been done to but so has the fiberglass bump seat and knee dent tanks. lol
