I need some help before I go nuts on eBay.
Does someone have fork center to center measurements for Yamaha Radian YX600 front clamps?
I was going to leave my original XT500 clamps on but the spread may limit my desire for more modern 4 pot calipers.
(I'm swapping in ex250 front forks and having a front wheel built from a cb550 hub already...)
If the Radian clamps have a wider spacing they may be the ticket...
I remember a guy who rode in to the shop I worked in some years back on an XT500 that had a Z900 front end. It looked good.
He told me the complete front end off the Z slotted straight into the XT trees. No axle spacers required (Z650 will do this too).
I know that doesn't really answer your question, but it does tell you that the XT fork spacing is actually wide enough to accommodate a disc brake front end (albeit an older one).
Three years later and a beautiful wheel from James Buchanan... I have a CB 550 front hub laced to a 19 inch rim, ex 250 forks with Sonic Springs for my weight, and the stock XT 500 clamps. James just added a shim for the right side to get it centered. The custom caliper mount is my favorite part.
