Front Fender Help

OpTiCz

Coast to Coast
I picked up a 83 VT750C Shadow front fender for 20 bucks off Craigslist.
I'm wanting to fit it to my 76 CB750F.

The back hole lines up perfect.
The front needs to some how be extended.
What do you guys typically do to do that?
Looks like I'll also have to run my brake line on the outside of my fork....

Air die grinder. But a Dremel works just as well. Just elongate the hole to where you need it.
Check your clearance front to rear. You may be better off elongating both ends a little, as opposed to elongating one alot.

The fender itself doesn't reach the mount hole in the fork.

Here's an inside view.
The only thing I can think of if fabbing up a triangular bracket.....

it would be tough to weld something. so it looks like if you cut a triangular shaped piece of flat. drill the three holes use the top hole to bolt fender to bracket and one to bolt fender with bracket to fork and the other bottom bracket hole to the fork. bent it in the vice a bit to work around that existing bracket so you dont need to shim it. paint it silver or black the thing would be so small it will go unnoticed. even the extra bolt head in fender shouldnt stand out.

That's what I'm thinking...
I have the original fender brace, I'll try using that to make the brackets...

Looks like that will do the trick.
I have to trim it up a bit, as well as the fender so it will all sit flush.

Any opinions on the height of the fender in regards to the wheel?
There's about 1/2 inch of clearance. Maybe a little less.

jack it up an spin that tire. I lowered my fender bout an inch and rubbed a groove in the tire before I realized it was touching at all. I had to trim my fender a little. but w your style fender not much to hide or rub. I might have a half inch and it does fine now.

I was going to say it doesn't need to be a triangular bracket - just a small tab between the front fender bolt and fork mount would do the trick. It can't rotate out of position. Triangular brackets might look better tho.

Here's what I came up with using the brace from the original fender.
My only concern is hard line between the fender and fork.
Think it would be OK?

At least this fender is SOLID.

I'm Ok upgrading :)
Should I still run a hard line on the outside of fork, or just braded the whole way?

My bad... I misunderstood what the problem was ;)
I'd think go braided the whole length. That way you can move it away from the pinch point between the fender and the fork.

Anyone know the size the fitting is for the front caliper?
I'd assume a banjo bolt should work, even though that's not what's on there now.
