FS: 77' CB550F Super Sport 16k miles, clean!

GV1390

Been Around the Block
Posting up for sale my restored-frame up 1977 Honda CB550F Super Sport. Bike has 16k miles and is very clean. The following has been done:

-Full frame up restore, painted frame/motor/etc
-Brand new Dunlop D404E tires (less than 30 miles on these)
-Freshly Inspected
-Brass swing arm bushings
-Rebuilt forks
-Honda Man Ignition
-Regulator/Combo Unit (brand new literally)
-New clutch cable
-New Chain
-New sprocket
-New gaskets for points cover, stator and exhaust
-New shifter shaft seal
-New tapered roller bearings for the headset
-Super Minty OEM 4:1 Exhaust with no rust, scratches or pitting
-Seat was recovered by previous owner
-New Interstate battery

Bike doesn't leak or burn anything, it's very clean as stated but it's a 77 so it's not perfect. The rear fender and wheels could be re-chromed, I was going to do this but I simply would rather ride it instead of taking it all back apart again. I also am having some wiring issue which can be seen here: http://www.dotheton.com/forum/index.php?topic=60363.msg684277#msg684277
in which it's probably something dumb, I simply have not had time to take a look at it again but this can be arranged so it's fixed before the bike goes, no problem. Bike has a clean NYS title as well, numbers all matching from frame/motor as a Super Sport as well. Feel free to PM me for any questions, thanks!

$3,000 firm.

Don't mind how dirty the bike is in these pics, like I stated before I haven't had much time to clean/work on it.

Definately a tough market on this board. People slam you for asking anything more than $200 on this forum because they're all a bunch of self proclaimed cheap bastards. I don't even bother posting my bikes for sale here anymore because I got tired of getting crucified for my asking prices. Funny thing is, I always get my asking prices somewhere else despite what the people say here.

Ah, gotcha!

Well bump this up, if anyone sells it they will get a finders fee.

My recommendation. Clean it up. Sort out your wiring issue if you can. Take decent pictures outside. Put it on eBay. You'll get your asking price any day.

Just because you get a price doesn't mean it's not a ridiculous one. Maybe the bike people here actually know the value of stuff while the guys who end up buying them are naive. I just sold an old tractor to a fellow for probably twice what it was worth. Wasn't trying to fleece him even. A guy familiar with them told me what it would be "worth" after the fact.

All that being said, good luck selling it. Looks like a lovely bike.

Some likely are, and some are sure to spout off about it. But to paint the group here as cheap is lame. Most enjoy building rather than buying a finished product. That's the difference. Cheers

Clean bike man. Good luck with the sale..... which probably won't be here on DTT. That's not a project bike which is normally what is bought / sold around here.

I'd take the advice mentioned above - get it running reliably and toss it up on eBay.
