Fuel Gauge: Options / Thoughts

Working on a new tank and debating a fuel gauge of some sort. I know Less=More with the Cafe Mentality. But with fuel...More=More. Any subtle/minimal solutions out there??? I'm not in love with anything so far. Let's see your examples/opinions.

Run Dry > Reserve: Meh...

Cap Gauge: Hard with split tank

What kind of tank are you running that a cap gauge would make for a tough fit?

Personally, if you want more in your "reserve" capacity you could pull the petcock out and try to add about 1/2" of tubing onto the tube that's already there. Never seen it done though.......Or do what I do: reset your trip odometer every fill up and get gas every 100 to 150 miles.

The tube kind sure look cool, but they scare the heck out of me. I'd hate to lay the bike down at speed and have it turn into a 60mph fireball.

My tank is divided in the middle. All the cap gauges I have come across have a plunger that would run into the 'bridge'.

Any other examples out there?
