Fuel issues with new VM30's

I can't seem to get my bike to run. Low down is I just bought mikuni vm30's and had the bike at a shop for some slight work. Guy adjusted my valves and had the bike running fairly well, but it seemed to die with quick twist of the throttle. Also said the carbs were synched and timing was right.

Now the bike is hell to start. Takes several kicks with choke on and seems to die with choke and sometimes without (when I get it running and off the choke).

I have no intake boot leaks, and no other issues that I know of. Running VM30's with K&N filters, stock header with shorty mufflers. I figure I gotta rejet but am not exactly sure what to do (what size to buy, etc). Someone told me my current jets are probably too big for the pods I have but I am not sure how to check. Do I pull the plugs and give em a look? See if they are gas fouled or something?

I have a video of the bike running and dying when I twist the throttle if y'all wanna see it.

Thx for any help.

Ha! I shoulda read this thread before I posted. http://www.dotheton.com/forum/index.php?topic=16745.0

Gonna try what it says here and go from there. If anyone has anything else to add, like some cool tips, that would help. Also can I just clean my plugs with a spark plug cleaner? I know you can get one at harbor freight for pretty cheap. Just wondering.

Thx

Your running way to lean. Powerfilters, KN or not, allow more air then stock, leaning out the mixture. Take some 10 to 15% bigger mains and you'll have a start.

clean your spark plugs with emery cloth or buy new ones.
