My gt250 was running fine the other day after replacing the plugs (oil pump settings were incorrect and engine was flooded) but then yesterday it was starting and revving but would bog down and die if I let off the throttle.
I checked the haynes manual and it said fuel is the cause.
I pulled the carbs and even though they look almost brand new I gave them a clean and made sure there was no sediment in the bowls. There is a slight crack in one of the bowl gaskets but it is still sealing properly and not leaking at all.
I tightened the throttle valve screws and then reset them to the manuals recommendations but still no luck.
Drained the fuel tank and pulled the petcock out (sorry my inner 12 year old always laughs when I type that), still looks brand new with no sediment and all of the filters were clean.
replaced everything, set the fuel tap to prime and filled the bowls, bike started again no problem but died without throttle.
opened the throttle screws a bit more but still no luck.
For some reason though when I pulled the vacuum hose to the fuel tap it started to idle properly (until the fuel must've run out because there was no vacuum pulling it through.
Any thoughts? I provided some boobs below. Hate arriving anywhere empty handed.
