Ok gys this may seem a bit dodgy but its not. Ive purchased a CB900FZ as a project bike which came in bits. Unfortunatly it never came with keys. I want to strip the tank down but cant get the lock open. Whats the best way to go about this? Drill out the lock? Thanks in advance.

Honda keys can be a bitch. Yamaha and Suzuki have a number on the tumbler, and you can often go to the dealer and get a replacement. Half the time Honda can't even say what key blank you need.

Try this Web site:
http://www.hondakeys.com/

or try taking it to a locksmith.

If you can find a number on the lock, do an ebay search. Lots of Honda OEM keys there.

Unfortunately, with Hondas, the lock number is usually hidden where you can't see it unless you have the key. Like I said, Yamahas and Suzukis usually have a key number right on the outside of the cylinder, but not Hondas. :-\

Bring the tank to a local locksmith and have them cut a key for it.
I had no key for the RD400 tank I put on my DS7. Went to a locksmith. 20 minutes and $20 later I had two keys and an open fuel tank.

Correction... 10 minutes and $10. I went back and looked it up ;)
