FZR600 fighter

well... not much but forward progress... got all the base coat on the engine cases, so all that is left is to lay the orange... then went back into the bike shop put on the rear sets and linkage, rear brake stay, and the upper stay.... then had some time left so i started to cut and shape the rear fairing to the new tail light i am going to use... and yes i will have intregrated turn signals in there as well....

Just brainstorming here off the top of my head... Rubber grommet or plug, or could you put a side marker/reflector over it?

i think some type of cap may be my only option i was going to make a mesh screen for it, but i do not have near the room i thought i did behind it to glue in the screen.... crap! how could i have over looked a detail like this, that is not like me

guys any ideas on what to do about this?

Make a brass or aluminum plug?

I'd think about using it as a plate for the turn signals... but would have to see the layout with the tank.

headlight is a blend of a stock set up for the guages, and a fighter headlight. belly pans are STUPID $$$$ so unless i can come up wiht a el-cheepo mod for that i am not going to run it

here is the headlight that i am going to use... i cut and shaped it to move it 1 inch closer to it and 1 inch down... that was as tight as i could get it, and keep the stock guages
i know this is not for everyone... but i got to be honest, i FN love it, so does my brother so that is what we are going with, it is completely different than anyting on any of the bikes around here.

At the risk of being a "nay-sayer", mounting that headlight unit off the standard guage mounts right out front is going to look pretty goofy (tried that once on my fighter). They are really best off mounted off the forks as close as possible to the headstock IMO.

Looking very tidy though bud ;)

air intake to cool the motor down under the fairings, my brother thinks i should go get a vent scoop like they put on boats and put that on there
something like this they are about 1.5 inches by 1.5 inches or look into a cowl vent

oooh i agree! 100% with you, but i am not going to drop any $ into this. so far all in all i have just over $200 into the whole build... EVERYTHING including bike.... i want to keep the stock guage set up so i do not have to fork the coin for a custom guage pod and use a dif headlight... so i tucked it in as close as i can get it and use the stock guages and that is how she will be... got a few G's i am sinking into my HD motor so i have to keep the $ spending to a low... or the wife will have me buying all sorts of crap for her bikes :) ha ha ha most people worry about their wives finding out they spent money on the bike, i am worried that mine will find out i am spending more on mine than hers! ha ha ha

I'd say you have the best looking $200 bike in the house ;D

I think this would work great, could go black with it to save some time and effort, but the orange powder on it would look best, that way it don't stick out too muck!

On that vent scoop , you could put some screen over the opening and it would really look sick! Orange vent scoop, black screen! I think that is the ticket there Joe!

great idea! i am going to hit up the old mans old boat parts and see if i can get lucky in there and find somehting, ill do a screen and add some orange LEDs behind it, thats right! got in 115 hyper orange LEDs today! would not be true to lite em up customs style if i did not light the shit out of this sucker!

200 bucks huh. A little easier to build a bike that looks like that when you are the powdercoater. Looks good. how does the headlight work? I had one like that and I hated it. I went out one nite with it on my fighter and couldn't see shit. I hope yours works. Keep it up.

I think if i gutted the harnesses on it, and got rid of the stock bulbs, the lense i actually Glass on the lamp, and i upped it the insides to a H4 set up and run silverstar bulbs. I CAN SEE CLEARLY NOW THE LIGHTS ARE MODDED.... I CAN SEE ALL OBSTICLES IN MY WAY :)
i did that before tearing it all down to see if we where going to keep the light or not, duel H4 bulbs create some heat though so i am thinking of running a swich to turn one off if i want or a vent screen behind them to keep air flow in there
