Garage toy photos.

Yeah it would be perfect for my 2 cars and the bikes if my girlfriend didn't insist on being able to park in there when it's cold :-\

in the winter it looks like this:

my car must be in the street in that pic

I get to use a 'corner' of my shop for my toys. :D

There's not much room really! I need to cut the number down to 3 at the most! That means 2 hafta go for sure! ;D ;D

Oh ya. I've carried most of the parts up the 'stairs of death' to the loft! :D

I wish I had some space at home like some of you guys do! I'm grateful for what I do have though! 8)

My garage is slowly becoming half garage, half living room... Literally. :'(

Almost cried the day the wall went up.

It's also home to a lot of woodworking tools, so my bike is constantly getting covered in dust.

Cool, I wanna play too. My garage isn't all that but, it serves it purpose. Currently looking for a warehosue for my bikes and my bussiness's right now. These are from last winter but you get the idea...

Sorry about that fuzzy pic. Hell, it makes me eyes hurt too...

In the summer time, the garage is usually open most of the time so I only keep one table down for any on going project I may be working on. It also gives me more space to work on my mini's which I race during the summer months.

(Damned fuzzy pics...sorry)
Well, that's where I hide all winter. During the summer months it looks different almost every other week depending on what's going on around here...

Hey where did you get those turn signals? Thats the size i was looking for. And are they LED?

They're EMGO aluminum signals.

They're not LED, but they have the same thread as the stock headlight bolts, so that was a nice touch.

e-bay. About $16-20 a pair as far as I remember.

nice thread! I kinda impulsively bought my first (three) motorcycle(s), a set of non running cb350s. I currently live at home with my mom, and she gave the ok on me using the garage if I was willing to clean it out. I forgot to take pics before cleaning, but it was literally filled to the rafters with crap along with my brothers project civic that he hasnt touched in the better part of a decade.

Anyways, here are a few pictures of the progress.

My granddads drill. Its got to be 40+ years old, but still works like it was new.

That's the Mr Heater Big Biddy heater right? How do you like it? I've been considering something like that for my garage, which is 1/2 the size of yours. Where's the propane tank hiding?

its really awesome man. If its really cold out I go turn on the heater and come back in 15-30 mins and is nice and warm. I normally shut it off/turn it to low as needed. I think its a really good capacity. For a smaller garage I would probably still stick with this unit because first of all its portable, so you can always use it in a larger space if needed. Secondly its sure to heat your space nicely if it heats mine, I couldnt say the same for another brand/capacity. And lastly, its not even all that expensive, so try to save the 30$ to get a smaller one?

As for the tank, I opted to go with a 20 lbs tank. This of course should never be kept inside as I was warned by people on this forum and labels on the tank/heater. So I just drilled a hole in my garage and ran a 4ft gas line outside. I filled the gap with some great stuff. Out side I put a piece of wood to keep it off the ground, and also bought a rubbermaid garbage can, and drilled holes in the bottom to vent any leaked gas, to shield it from the elements. All together (including the purchase of a filled tank) it ran me just over 200$. Ill snap a shot of the tank outside if youd like.

Did you order the heater? One obstacle I'm running into is they don't sell that model in Canada. It's not certified up here for indoor use. I can order them on eBay and ship, but they're more expensive that way. I've seen them online in the US for $99, but can't get it shipped up here.

I like that it can run on either a 20lb tank or the small canisters. I'd likely run on canisters for this winter, till I sorted out putting a 20lb propane tank smack dab in the middle of my wife's garden ;)

I bought mine from home depot for about 120 I think. I would highly suggest getting a 20lb tank. There are a lot of nice ways to disguise it. I just went with a rubbermade trash can because Im not too concerned with how it looks. Alternately you can use a large woven basket. Id just line it with plastic, and then vent it on the bottom (propane is heavier than air.)

If you figure out how much it would be to ship one up there, Id be happy to go to home depot and get one for you. But I would assume it would just be the same cost to get one on ebay.

My 40A subpanel is being wired in this Saturday - I've decided to go with electric heat and I needed fresh power brought to the garage anyhow (100ft run from my main panel) so I'm investing in some nice electrical work.

Will be plenty of power to run a 220v heater and a couple 20A circuits for tools etc. I think I could weld in a pinch too, not that I have a welder (yet).

Picked up the remaining insulation I needed too, so hopefully over the next 10 days I'll get the garage finished, my tool cabinet out there and find a cheap construction heater. All just in time for the cold weather so I can finish the damn XS650 before it's 2nd year anniversary on April 1, 2009.

Her's my little get away. 18 X 22 with an oil fired furnace for those Cold Northern Winter Nights. ;)
