Short note of introduction, I'm in Canberra Aust

I've been rebuilding in the "cafe style" for a while now, projects include a CB350F and CB900F DOHC, I still have the 900 with polished everything, Tarozzi clip ons and a single cafe seat I built myself from a standard seat base.
Current project is a 78 XS650 standard which is coming up trumps so far, just waiting a "gold star" style seat to to finish first fitout, then it's going to get torn down for full paint and rebuild.
Anyway great to find this forum that is not model specific, more style specific!
New bikes interest me but if I see an oldie that has been dressed in the cafe style and well built I get all excited (get a life??)
Here is a couple of pics attached, I can't get at photo bucket due to the www blocking nazi's so I'm hanging to get home and have a look at your work.
Good to see a solid movement of like minded people out there...................
cheers

Hi from Sydney, nice bike. I saw one on bikeEXIF.com similar to this one of yours on 11/8 and had been thinking about it ever since. Slick bikes. Nice job

Welcome (from Victoria) rude. I'm liking that bol d'or (because I have 3 of them ;) ), but you're going to have to put up a build thread at some point ;D (link in my sig to some of my stuff)

You're right, these guys and gals are a very tolerant and helpful bunch.

hope to see more of your work.

cheers

G'day Ian,

Been away, I just caught up on my thread of introduction followed your link and saw your Bol Dor, very nice and well done, I've book marked your site so keep on posting. Mine hasn't been down to the frame nor has it had as extensive restoration just did the necessities shocks/forks/bearings and paint and had some fun with the seat bars and instruments etc. PO had the donk rebuilt and she's as smooth and quiet as she was 30 years ago, With this good base my intention was to put together a "rider" but keep it low. The cafe seat built around an original base was an interesting excersize, don't know if I got the look just right but it will do for now, I've also retained the two seat option, just need an hour to swap seats and tail light.
As for build threads I'm not good at those I mostly forget to take the pictures as things progress. Currently have the XS650 cafe happening but again not many pics, once finished I'll get what have together.
Some more pics of the 900 for your perusal in the two seater guise, astute boldorians will pick the differences from standard, and, where I'm up to with the XS almost ready to pull down and paint.
cheers
Rod
