General battery question

Hey guys I'm oblivious to batteries/ electronics. So this may be a dumb question... but can someone explain to me how to read a battery like 12 12A-4A, so thats 12 volts then 12 amp or 4 amp? I want to run a smaller 5amp battery for my cb350, but will that not work the electric start? How many amps do you need for the starter?

You need around 40A for initial cranking, 5A/hr should be able to turn motor over once or twice but it is a bit small, even for kickstart only use
Minimum I recommend is 7A/hr for kickstart only bikes, mainly to prevent battery overcharging and drying out at high rpm (you know bike doesn't charge until 2,000+rpm?)
