Still have some wiring to do but I am satisfied with the outcome.

I have clubman bars on order right now. I just wanted a mock up for the picture.. but thanks for the insults....

Those weren't insults.

Are you going to be putting rear sets on that bike? With the lower bars, your lower back will thank you if you do.

Wasn't an insult, was just questioning a fairly obvious safety problem you posted on a public forum.

Good to hear you got some proper bars on the way.

Great to hear you won't actually be riding with those, but my point was the same as what J-rod is saying. Lower bars + stock peg location = a bad time for your back.

And no, I was not trying to be insulting, simply pointing out a very obvious issue. If you take that as an insult you need to grow the fuck up.

Looks good man.. I love those CB200 tanks. Yeah, really take some time to consider your riding posture, if you go with lower bars you should consider balancing that out by repositioning your foot controls to match. J-Rod knows what he be speakin on!

I do really like where you're heading with this btw, the colors look great together and that tank/seat combo is money. Keep it up 8)

Thank you coyote.... I am doing a vintage WWII look, with drab olive green, black and leather. Going to put a vintage army star and serial number on it... the bike will be named "Ironic". Due to it being a Japanese bike with WWII theme.

Don't let them get to you, some people like to come on strong.

Anyways, nice looking 200 :) I'm working on a 200 at the moment too. Hopefully it turns out as nice as yours! Prost!

What'cha running for a filter on there?
That first shot is freaky, it looks like theres only the one shock on there

Where are you gonna put the serial number? Might be cool to use one of those old fender mount number plates, I think they may sell blank ones on DCC.

And actually, (wasn't the intention for this post but) IIRC the PO of my CB sent one with when I bought the bike. If you're interested I'd be happy to go rummage around the garage and see if I can find it. Would be yours for the cost of shipping!

The amount of tough guy/tough love on this forum is sky high....

Everyone wants the be the first to tote the line and scream at a noob for clubman/no rear set combo or lowered forks/no fender combo. It's like a friggen' competition around here.

Stating the obvious to a new rider who might not see it doesn't strike me as very "tough guy"

Did you have anything productive to add or did you just want to stir the pot?

Calling him a jackass (not you another user) and telling him to grow the fuck up (you) is "tough guy" in my book.

This thread serves as a demonstration for why tact and giving benefit of the doubt before jumping the gun might better serve the community...after all he wasn't keeping those bars.

I guess I'm old school in thinking that for motorcycle knowledge forums it would be better to foster an open and inviting community instead of one that is hostile to new users...

I come from a place where motorcycle knowledge is near zero and the only place I could turn to for info was online. Thankfully when I was learning the people who assisted me were nicer and enthusiastic about sharing what they know instead of cracking the tired joke of "you'll only be riding 100 meters on that setup".

I guess we will see if OP sticks around...

Just FYI the "jackass" comment stemmed from a different thread. Not all is as it seems.

We are trying to help, and sometimes that can come off as being abrasive. This is a community of riders and we generally all look out for each other. My comment was not meant to make me sound tough, but perhaps to toughen up the user the comment was directed to. This is the internet and there will be misunderstandings of tone and intent due to the text nature of the forum. If your skin isn't thick enough to handle a little constructive criticism, then you do, indeed, need to grow up.

Now let's get on with the build thread at hand. RR, if you would like to discuss further, please feel free to PM me, I'd be happy to chat.
