Getting closer to finished

The amount of tough guy/tough love on this forum is sky high....

Everyone wants the be the first to tote the line and scream at a noob for clubman/no rear set combo or lowered forks/no fender combo. It's like a friggen' competition around here.
I simply asked if he was planning on rear sets. If you consider that screaming something, I'd hate to see your reaction to someone actually screaming something at you in an abrasive manner.

Brownbear,

I knew why I liked your build so much and it's because I've seen a very similar bike made by Purebread out of Montreal.

Here's what it looks like :

I'm not saying you should copy his paint job or build but I think when it comes to that green/black combo with the brown seat some additional color here and there might be nice. White works well but one thing I really liked about this bike in person was how the fuel lines were red and he used a black/red braided spark plug cable.

You can get them from DCC here : http://www.dimecitycycles.com/vintage-cafe-racer-caferacer-bobber-brat-chopper-custom-motorcycle-electronic-ignition-parts-vintage-cloth-spark-plug-wire-kit-red-black-p-elec-plugwire-cloth-br.html

Calling him a jackass (not you another user) and telling him to grow the fuck up (you) is "tough guy" in my book.

This thread serves as a demonstration for why tact and giving benefit of the doubt before jumping the gun might better serve the community...after all he wasn't keeping those bars.

I guess I'm old school in thinking that for motorcycle knowledge forums it would be better to foster an open and inviting community instead of one that is hostile to new users...

I come from a place where motorcycle knowledge is near zero and the only place I could turn to for info was online. Thankfully when I was learning the people who assisted me were nicer and enthusiastic about sharing what they know instead of cracking the tired joke of "you'll only be riding 100 meters on that setup".

I guess we will see if OP sticks around...
He was called a "jackass" by me because that was the 1st comment made about me. Its from a thread I started. So I was just being a jackass.

Hah! well you definitely got me there I'll admit that. Would have been hard for me to find that out but still you're right. Also now after reading it seems the guy was a dick to you out of nowhere so don't I look stupid defending someone who was doing exactly what I was condemning...

:/

When they stick some fenders/fork brace up front to finish up that bike, it'll be a dandy looking little machine.

Exactly what I was thinking. Very tidy bike otherwise.

I chuckle when i see that guys builds, none of them would even come close to passing an inspection here in Quebec

Mix that with cops that are top notch dicks sometime and your fun ends real fast

You know it's funny you say that because that bike was made in Quebec by one of the few known custom bike builders for bikes that aren't Harleys. I prefer the bikes from Clockworks Motorcycles (the owner is an ex-helicopter mechanic so he really knows how to wrench) but the owner of Purebreed cycles is an interesting guy. At the convention he was surrounded by fans so I didn't get to ask him about the lack of fork brace or what he does about cops. I did ask the guys from Clockworks if Cops bother them with their bikes and they said that no, most of them admire the bikes...it seems 5-0 hates on the GSXR and sporbike crowd as well as Hells but that goes without saying. I agree cops in QC are top notch A-holes, they didn't make many fans when they pulled their paramilitary pants stunt...

Definitely a "show bike" riding a moto without a front fender in Quebec would be impossible...not a single road out here without a ton of gravel and pot holes.

When it comes to inspection they get around it by buying the donor bike and having it brought to working order to pass inspection. They chop it and mod it after that. Would probably cause trouble with insurance if you don't tell them you modded the bike.

Farmer- not sure on the filters yet... might do some velocity stacks.. but unsure

coyote- that would be a cool idea with the euro number plate on the front. but I think I will just put the star on one side and the serial number on the other. probably just going with some decals for it instead of paint, just incase somebody doesn't want it.

Royal- that is a sweet looking bike. I do like the green black and brown combo. The fender/fork brace combo is painted the same as the tank and I have just put it on. I didn't want to take the chance on the forks twisting. as for the issue with 1fasgxsr, I think and hope that issue is resolved. I apologized for calling him a jackass. I admit it was a little preemptive.

RR, just out of curiosity, have you seen our french version of cafe racer tv?
Basically a bunch of bikes he "builds"... The show is utter garbage, you near QC?

I highly suggest a uni filter, might not be super attractive (depends on person), but the one on my tc185 seems to do the trick nicely, and the thing runs like a top...

I'll second Uni. Good filters.

The loop out the back of the frame looks to have 2 holes in it, I'd make a bracket to mount to that, and mount the rear sets to that

What happens when they sell it, does the new owner not need a safety?

QC only requires an inspection if the vehicle has not been registered for road use in quebec for over a year or if an officer of the law gives a ticket requiring one.
