GL1000 fork swap with cb750k

Been Around the Block
I tried searching this forum but couldnt come up with any answers.
I'm on a never ending quest for superior stopping power on my 76 cb750k. From what little information I gathered, I wanted to verify with you experts and ask some other questions.
From what I understand, the 75-77 gl1000 front end is a true bolt on swap, will use the same spoked wheel as I have now (19inch cb750k spoked wheel). Is this true?
How much superior stopping power am I talking about here with the GL1000 dual disc brakes?
Can I used the 78+ calipers on these? The information I gathered wasnt clear on it.
Using the same wheel, are the rotors the same?
Is it easy later on to swap to a modern braking set up with calipers with multiple pistons?
Is there anywhere online where I can get a full parts list for this swap?

Thanks ahead of time. So far if I can keep my front wheel the same, this conversion should only run me a couple hundred.

I did the conversion on my 78 CB750 F3. It is a direct swap and uses the same neck bearings. You will need to use the GL calipers though. Your wheel will fit right on you just need another rotor and longer bolts. You will also need to use the GL speedo adapter. You may need to modify the stops so your bars don't hit the tank. Also for dual brakes you will need a master cylinder rated for dual discs. The K rotors (77-78 F models are different) and the K hub are the same as the GL. Just so ya know the GL front end is a bit wider and the forks are about an inch longer. Check out my build thread and "tweakin's" build thread for more info. Feel free to ask any questions via PM as well.

Hey Branden, I guess I need to go and read your build thread again (here or there?). I gots questions!
