Glass Velocity Stacks

Ethanol

Coast to Coast
So I first saw these in blog coverage of the Mooneyes Japan Show. Here's a link:

If anyone is interested I found a guy who can make them for me for much cheaper ($80 instead of $260).

Any interest? I'm getting a set made for my KZ right now.

They're bad ass, but how durable are they? I'd worry about the vibration getting to them and shattering them where the flange is.

According to the guy I know, as long as they are rubber mounted they should last a really long time. As long as you don't chip/hit them. I can get them in any size and almost any color/color combo (the more complex the more expensive, naturally).

cool, but not street smart. theyll get broken quick, or the heat/cold fluctuations will get to them and crack them, unless if they are tempered glass.

id rather have some good plastic ones...

I know of several people on J.J. that have been running them with zero issues for a 3+ yrs now.

I think lowbrow customs offers them now too.

They are being made of a version of pyrex glass. Totally resistant to heat/cold.

Those are really sweet. Pyrex is some pretty durable stuff. Man I can see JRK right now putting LEds on back side of these to light up the rims.

One thing that would prevent me from using them (apart from cost ;D )
Glass is HEAVY.
Nice for a showbike but not for me thanks

Those green ones are gorgeous. I'd love to see some that color with Rolling Rock labels on them. Maybe I'm crazy, but I think that would be awesome. Still, even at $80 instead of $260 there's no way I could afford 4 of them. :(

Yeah man....think bake ware. There is also a high silica version that can be made. I have a buddy that is a glass blower. He regularly demos his pieces of glassware by slamming them on the floor with no issues. They actually bounce. I wouldn't worry about them with a rubber isolater. You can do some crazy awesome shapes and stuff with glass too.

BTW, Pyrex shatters if it's hit with cold water when it's hot. Not that a velocity stack would get hot enough, but it does break.

Ok, if anyone is interested in ordering some let me know. I'm gonna place an order real soon here.

PM me and we can figure it out.
