Gn250 wiring. Help.

I recently got ahold of a gn250, it runs well and as far as I can tell its in mechanically sound condition. However, the previous owner bought it as an ex police bike and in removing the fairing completely cannibalised the wiring. So alot of plugs are missing. Like the one for the regulator/rectifier. I was wondering if anyone could help me with getting my rectifier wired in so my bike can charge itself?

It'll depend on the year, but coming from the alternator there should be two yellow wires and a black/white wire. These will plug into the harness with the black/white going to black/white, one yellow going to yellow, and the other yellow going to white/green.

The white/green will connect to the red/white up near the handle bars. The red/white, black/white, and yellow wires can now all connect to the R/R.

That match up with what you're seeing?

We eventually found the wires but the wiring harness was such a mess we have replaced it, however some of the plugs didn't match up so we have mostly been putting wires together to test what works, we can get the lights to come on but so far the starter solenoid is nt clicking no matter what black wires we try to match up?

Pull the solenoid and test it directly against the battery. One wire to positive and one wire to negative (doesn't matter which). It should click when you hook it up. If it doesn't, the solenoid is bad.
