going nuts here

*cheers*

Glad you're throwing some weight around. you've been fucked over far too much dude.
Grab a manual, a flashlight and a wire tester (one that turns on a light when you touch both ends of a wire) and have at it!
Maybe it will take 15 hours... but how many of us haven't put 15 hours into our bikes in the run of a weekend?
I put that in on bikes that aren't even mine, for free.

Good luck with it, and there's a wealth of help here for you.

honestly im glad im getting it back...and i know i can count on you guys to lend a helping hand.

i later found out the guy has had the bike nearly 3 weeks and touched it maybe 3 times...and everytime i get a call, its a complaint about the wiring or some other minor thing. wiring is not rocket science...i actually figured out why he said it would take so long though...he told me he has to find which wire does what, solder and shrink wrap each individual wire...so it boils down to the fact that he doesnt want to put his name on something that looks half-assed. i can appreciate that but damn dude.

at any rate, i should be getting a call today or tomorrow to come get it. dad said he'd give me a hand and considering he has all the meters and shrink wrap and stuff, i dont think i'll stop him from helping. ;D

yeah i've just been selling everything on ebay. it gives me something to do and i've been making a little money to throw down on this bike when i get it back.

Wow, I can't believe anyone would make someone wait as long as you have. When it's time for new tires for one of my bikes, I just go up to the Kawi place I bought a new bike from a couple years back. I just bring the rims in, and even my own purchased tires, the guy there does them for $10 under the table. I have been doing that for about 3 years now. Everytime but once did I not have them back in 15 minutes, I just cruise the showroom and chew the fat. As far as the wiring issue goes, anyone who complains about doing something like that, usually has not a clue what they are doing. Hell, it's your money, he shoud be happy to be in business and have someone pay for his time and expirience. At least that's the way I look at it. Never take your bike back to this hackjob, and keep your friends bikes out of there as well.

now im starting to get impatient

i think they had to plant the tree...then wait for it to grow up...then cut it down
i wish i knew how to change my own.

id be at the shop in the morning and sit there till they put on tire, then tell them that you belong to seceral motorcycle forums and if you dont have bike in 15 minutes every biker in the state will not to go there.

called again today...even more frustrated.

"hey i need to check the progress on the green 76 550...name is Phillips"

"hold on a minute"
"yeah we just ordered that tire this morning...(7 days after he said he would order it)...it should be in on wednesday"

"does that mean it will be DONE on wednesday?"

"that i cant say for sure...we have to run a diagnostic check after we install the tire to look for bugs"

"bugs...what do you mean bugs?"

"well when a bike has been sitting so long...(tell me about it)...it tends to develop electrical bugs...we may have to jump the battery or something"

"ugh thanks"

at this point, i just dont even care anymore. im so tired of hearing this bullshit

electrical bugs?? I thought they were just doing the tires now? that shop is feeding you a line of crap. last time I had a tire changed, I just took them the rim, they never saw the bike. get your bike back. I'd be willing to bet they are gonna hit you with a huge bill when you get there.

yup prolly so. and i will bitch and moan and raise hell that they've had the bike for 4 weeks and all i got was tires and grief

I truely believe in Karma, and one day this guy will be having pineapples stuffed up his butt by a crossdressing one toothed crack-smoking seven foot hampster for all eternity. Mail me the rim and tire, I'll have it put on and sent back to you,....one week...tops.
