Goldwing build (CAFE/Bratt)

Soo.... you gonna troll for bass with this thing or what?
Come On Tim, there isn't a crazy amount of flake in that, and I think it will be toned down once the last coat goes on it. Have faith, the rest of the bits are way to nice for this to end up in bass boat territory.

right Joe?? It isn't going down that road I hope.

Ok I hope you are right, the cooling fan is pretty big on these girls. I was hoping Tim wasn't thinking of the colour, as it sould be close to the calipers etc.

ha ha ha man that is AWESOME!!!!!! thank you so much man! so so much! saved me a ton of leg work! i was on there for about 2 hours yesterday printing off how to's! When i did my frame i found a bit of tar on it.. after looking into this a bit it looks like those are my transistor spark units, so i have a new set on the way and i am going to try the epoxy repair as well. man thank you so much! i took a close look at my belts last night and they look like brand new, still have the good year logo on them even no cracking or nothing. but the radiator hoses are a must!
you think i should do my thermostat for shits and grins?

Hey Joe, Buy the belts, they are like 20 ea and then you know when they were changed. You shoudl change them every 2 years like clockwork. I have to do mine next season or the end of this one.

Cheers,

Maritime

No problem credit goes to the members on that forum, just sharing the wealth
The funny part is when I walked in to my local NAPA with the part numbers for the timing belts, oil seals, Radiator hose, and T-stat... the guy behind the counter said "You're building a GoldWing!" apparently I wasn't his first :D
Still need to pick up the stant radiator cap from NAPA... But I got the wheel bearings from Motion Industries with the Company I work for discount ;)

Oh, and I'd always replace the t-stat on an engine build, too cheap of a part to take a chance on istalling a bad one. Sometimes one overheating will ruin it so why take the risk.

cool will do will do..

finished the tank and side covers this weekend!!!! insane!! ill get some pics up later today or tororrw in the sun, used some silver leaf on the side covers for the name, looks wicked!

also shot the switch covers... going to do some assembly tonight

ok here are some cell pics... the paint work was done by our shop painter Joe... he also did Seans (my busn partners) camaro, does a wicked job so we had him work his magic on the platics as well... he is insane with paint!!!!

you will notice the fuel door is no longer 2 parts it is now one solid piece with a zeus connector for the door (like you use on the hood of a race car) looks much better and allowed the lines on the tank to be as clean as possible!
but here is the paint work!
also... bear in mind this matches the powder work to the T! going to be so sick... should have a roller by the end of the week if we can sneak in some time to knock out the wheels! going to do a bunch more work on her tonight

i am going to get as much done as i can... problem is the wheel bearings are still not here, the wheels are not done, the fork seals are STILL not here.. so i can put the trees on cause i got the new stearing stem bearings... and a few other odds and ends... but i can not do the exhaust, front fender (making one), rear fender (also making one), lower the rear shocks, lower the front end... all till i get the wheels on the bike....
so tonight i will prob end up fiberglassing the seat pan i got the chuck from hoosier. so that should make things so much easier for me to make it! will prob get into that tonight. but we will see... over this weekend i have wrenched on 8 total bikes... nothing wild just fluids, pads, bars, tune ups, new chains... yadda yadda yadda and only put on about 200 miles... so i may hang up my shop gloves and put on my glasses and go rip on the roads a bit!
Maybe light a fire under my brothers ass so we can get the wing done so the girls can come out on the back of our scoots with us as well. one of my best friends finished his motorcycle safety class about an hour ago, he is supe pumped... he re did a vulcan 750 for him over the past few months and need to marble it to finish it off... stoked to get him on the road with us

Here I figured your Motion Ind. would have had those bearings in stock, when I got mine they said there was 200 in Chi-town. but they had 5 at my local branch.
Bike is lookin sick man... I need your resources ;D
