ha ha ha we have gone out of our way to eliminate EVERYTHIGN that has a shine or gloss to it on the bike... and i mean everything, even powdred the bolts and nuts... he named it "flat out" so we are going to get all the shine covered or powdered... plus the covers will make the front forks look .5 bigger than they really are and give it a really fat fron look, help to make the headlight look smaller! just what we want!

I thought I might have missed something there ... makes sense now. Are you going to black out the headlight lens as well? Powdered bolts??? That is freakin' nutz ... :D

not the lense, we actually are going to light it up red...

if you look at my HD the lamp will have this type of effect

ok so she is starting to look like a motorcycle!!!!

got alot done last night, may not look like it but alot of fab work had to be done

first had the lower tree in he freezer for2 days. made pressing the new timpkin lower bearing on, the upper bearing is all balls

then the lowers. I had to shave out the damper support a bit to work on these forks.. but it worked... i dropped th insides of the forks 1.2 inches, used progressive springs, for fork oil i did a blend, it is 80% 15w and 20% 10w, this will still support the weight of the heavy bike for a nice ride but still let it rock the turns in the most agressive manner she can!

the headlight block i made did not fit, so i had to rework that a bit, it was also putting the lamp a bit high so i had to knock down the block a bit as well to get it centered but all in all, one of my fav front ends we have ever done.. the flat black trees look insane next to the texture flat frame

seat time!
made a tab to fit under the tank, i have 2 more tabs that will bolt to the side of the seat and to the frame rails to pull it nice and tight to follow the lines the bike has naturally, but that needs to be added later

spray glued on the 2 in foam

some of the markings to ensure it is level on all sides as it is shaped

just have to put some final wrap on the seat to smooth it all out, then pick the fabric we are going to wrap this sucker in... i think black micro fiber will be the winner

Great work as always Joe! When ever you post a project its a great read so thanks for sharing. I'd love to build a Wing much along these lines.

Ok ok... was out in the shop till 3am cleaning!!!! had to get it ready for the new lift that i am getting tonight! the seat fabric is on the way so we should be able to get that buttoned up, powder coated the seat latches we made as well

not much to show... but i did get a bit done after it was all cleaned up

i had to tear the front end apart... again. the damper location would nto work i had to move it under the tree. but to do that i had to make some new fork covers, but that is all loc tited and torqued down now

also got the bushings out of another set of shocks, pulled the HD bushings out, and replaced them... BOOM harley shocks! now i just got to see how much we are going to need to cut them down for the stance we want

and lastly got the rotors on and torqued down

alright! my lift came in!!!!

tossed the wheels on the scoot, got her off the old table on on the new! love this thing!!!

did not have the axel for the rear as it is still in the box of stuff to coat, so i had to toss a piece of alum condowit through there for now. but put a bunch of molly grease on the shaft spines and the crush drive before mounting it up. I am going to take 3/4 inch out of the shocks (one coil) and that will be plenty low without loosing too much clearance for cornering. seat looks good on the ground, so comfy just needs to be covered and to smoooth out the padding with the orbital

the bike does look wicked rocking no front fender and IMO the best looking one for the bike is the stock one... but it is plastic and we already painted all the tins! so i was playing around with some other fenders i had, i am likeing the idea of cutting this one up to work. this bike will be riden not just sit so a front fender is a must

another option is use this lid but mill some brackes, maybe do a fork brace and mount the fender to the brace

Awww... c'mon Joe. You can totally ride with no front fender. You just keep your mouth closed when the road's wet!
Actually I like the first one bobbed. It looks sick! This bike is looking excellent dude. Love the colors. Love it all!

looks great. I like the second fender. Like you said it looks awesome with no fender, so the second looks like it would be lower profile. Also, the bracket arms that drop down on the first one makes me think it might take away from the kick ass comstars you have created. Just a thought. dissenters welcome.
Knoepps ;D

Blacked out fork brace with second fender mounted as close to the tire as possible, make it dissappear as if there is no fender.

Cheers,

Lookin sick! Can't wait to see the show and shine on this sucker.
