GoldWing with a Fairing... what's next?

Hoosier Daddy

Earache my eye...
I have been riding the 'oldWing "Bomber!" to work daily and to tell you the truth, there was a couple days at highway speeds for 25 miles I was was feeling a little beat when I got home. I had bought a Emgo Viper Fairing from DCC a while back for "Rock-it" my CB750 project but am liiking the looks of it so damn much without the fairing I didn't want to put it on... Hmmmm
Sunday I took some time and mounted it on the 'Wing... I LOVE IT! It's just enough of a wind break to make the trip pleasent and I find myself tucking in a grabbing a handfull of throttle more and more. I haven't tested it in the rain yet, but feel it is no longer an issue. Plus I think the cosmetics are improved.
Agreed?

I am honestly thinking about turning this into a retro-mod Bagger, I have the rear fender off a CB and cutting down the stock front fender, painting them both black and adding these small cheap bags off e-bay.

Lookin good man!
That fairing is so much too big for most of the cafe bikes people are building. But it is perfect for the wing!

I've always been a fan of that fairing, and have put it on several dozen bikes over three decades. Those bags... I've come close to buying them on several occasions, but for every good review there are about twenty that say they suck. All kinds of issues from showing up pre-beat, to lock issues, mount issues, cracking etc. etc. The main problem is trying to get customer service which I've read is almost nonexistent. Maybe lately it's been better, but I think you might have better luck finding hard bags at swap meets...

What kind of seat are you running on that wing. That is exactly the look I am going for with my wing project. As of right now it is stripped down to the frame for painting. Gotta swap out the forks too. Its a work in progress.

Sorry, Pal, only one like it... well there's two... I made it out of fiberglass with a styrofoam buck. Then I sent the buck to JRK5892 for him to use on his GL.

Wait till you see what my BMW is turning into over the next few weeks :) R90S fairing, Heinrich hand shields, Heinrich leg shields, Craven top loading bags...

A classic sport touring bike.

Hoosier, I have been running a small screen on my wing lately too for the same reason. It's a quick release I usually only run spring/fall and long trips but I left it on now and think maybe the fairing you have may be a permanent fixture. It looks great on the wings vrs the god awful windjammers etc. you just need something when you run the freeways to cut that massive blast of wind at 80-90 mph.
