Gorgeous board tracker....built from scratch.

Kanticoy

Mad Science!
DTT BOTM WINNER
This thing is beautiful. It's using a Briggs and Stratton motor with electric start. The frame was designed off of engineering plans from an original Michaelson one off frame from 1905.

This thing is absolutely beautiful.

I think a few people would splooge in their pants over that one..now if only there was a board track to ride it on.

The dude better do the math very carefully as to weight and terminal velocity or one very pretty bike may end up very expensive scrap.I shudder to think what that bike must have cost to build.bj

I love it. That is my kind of bike! I want to build a Franken-Bike so bad I can taste it. I've even got the motor! That is definately something to aspire to.

"my dear boy"?!
I'll let that go for the moment :p
By FrankenBike I mean taking a motor that was not intended for use in a motorcycle and building a sweet ass bike around it. Not like some nasty slung together rat rod. That bike has the highest degree of what I like to call the "What-The-Fuck Factor." It's also an inspiring piece of functional art. I meant no degradation of the amazing final product with the use of the term "FrankenBike." It's just that a mad scientist built that in his laboratory as a giant Fuck You to the nay-sayers. That's the kind of stuff I aspire to. Anything built from scratch like that is awesome to me. EuroDave's Triton inspired build over in big arse projects also falls into this category for me. A bike made from a motor that no one else has ever thought to throw into a motorcycle. The ingenuity and do-it-my-damned-self attitude that went into that bike is what sets it apart. That bike with some old Harley motor wouldn't be nearly as cool for me. Because that's just another board tracker replica. And this is something that is so different some people would call it unnatural. I call it perfect.

Amen Alex!

I feel the same way about that thing. I can't believe how beautiful a Briggs can be....Mmmmm

ok you have redeemed yourself ;D

well i showed the pops and he probly studied it for about 15min and he said "thats cool, we need to build one next year for sturgis or the party...'", "but we need some kind of kool engine, but not a briggs...a single cylinder..." so i was thinking about it and you wouldnt be riding this thing a ton so maybe tops would be 60-70mph...what first popped into my head was a rebel, but i wanna hear what you can all think of...and i dont think a dirt bike engine would be right so those are outta the equation...so the challenge to ya'll is help me with a motor idea...

It makes nice garage art but it's virtually useless as a motorcycle. No brakes = where in the hell are you going to ride it? Your local board track? LOL

A lot of the old board trackers and vintage racers used a primary drive gear brake. Basically a drum brake attached to the primary gear. Keeps weight evenly distributed. Dunno if this guy has one, but it would be my guess considering that primary cover looks like it even goes so far as to house a belt drive.

I believe you are right about the primary gear brake kanticoy. The bike is road legal and he rides it around. I love his inspiration. What a story! And he is living proof that the Apple doesn't fall far from the tree. He is the Rocketman and has built many rocket based land speed record machines. Also was part of a team to become the first civilans to reach space.

well boys, look close enough and he has a kart rear brake master cylinder and from what i can tell the disc and caliper are inside the cover on the right side...follow the red brake line from the master cylinder...my dad has the same master cylinder on his barstool racer that he butchered a race kart for parts
