Re: CB 550 K Cafe Racer Conversion #got my driving license!

I disassembled it first, all mechanics are out, the case is totally stripped in that picture.
The case was first plastic bead blasted to get rid of the old paint, then glassbead blasted for the finish as it stands there.
Because the standard threads of the indicators are too short and thin to mount the lamp properly, I decided to go for another solution.
Now both indicator pairs are placed at the bike. Furthermore, I finished the brakes with new pads which are installed with some copper paste underneath.
So, I made it to the final assembling of frame and wheels.
Every bolt is checked, fastened and secured. Most bolts are replaced by stainless ones (except all motor bolts and nuts, front and rear brake bolts), chain is mounted, oil-pressure switch and idle switch are installed, generator is placed aaaand....
I found this retro bicycle chain protector in my local store, which I thought could be a good option for my bike with some minor changes.
The price of 12 $ just underlined my plans.
So here it is:
It's quite a straight fit
To have a lighter and sportier look, I shortened it like this
There are only the appropriate mountings to manufacture, but that's a minor problem...
-footpegs welded and painted
-all cables are at their place
-electrical work is nearly finished
-the right kickstarter has been installed
-the speedo's hall sensor is placed at the front wheel
I finished my selfmade front fender and all the necessary parts went to the painter. It will be a green comparable with the stock color "candy jade green" and a centered black stripe running all over the bike.
Holy crap, can't beleive I am just seeing this now, great build. I love the tach speedo combo. I was going to buy a Dan-Moto guage but that looks so much better I may just do something similar. I like the color of the bike too.
So here we go. The last step is currently done by my seat manufacturer. Next week the bike is as complete as a never really complete and finished bike can be.
My girlfriend suggested a name for the bike, a name out of a crazy but also brilliant idea...Man, that could have been my idea!
Ladies and gentlemen, I present you
The Green Hornet
Here is a compilation of the best pics I recently made on my short trip around the cities without any cushion.
The final pics to follow, when the seat is finished.
