Bermudian.
Hey all,
Just joined, and wanted to introduce myself. I'm Bermudian born and raised, lived there my whole life. One of the more interesting laws is the limitation of motorcycle engine sizes-nothing over a 150cc (and as of 2005 no 2-strokes are sold unless they are 50cc). Since only 1 car is allowed per household, at 16 every kid gets a 50cc scooter and then can get their drivers license at 18 as well as getting a 150cc license. At 16 though, we tune up our scooters as much as they can take (and modifying all the other bikes is sort of the culture out there) The green bike below has a 70cc full race block, and head, with a larger carb, front and back racing clutches, racing gearwheels, racing CDI and a full race exhaust (bike is pictured before licensing test, so that exhaust isn't on). It did 65mph, not bad for a 70cc! All my bikes have been 2-strokes, cause of the powerband and power to weight ratio.
Some of the bikes I've owned before are below. I'm jealous of all you guys who can buy a 500cc as your first bike!
My first bike, a Malaguti Centro, Italian-built scooter. Fun little bike.
My second bike, a Montesa built, Honda NSR 75, very similar to the NSRs used in club racing in the US. Liquid cooled, a blast.
A little toy given to me, the best selling vehicle of all time. A Honda Cub. Sold that recently.
And my current bike and cafe-racer candidate. A Yamaha RXS 100. This will be rebuilt this summer, although I already resprayed it with my mate.
Any tips or tricks with converting that thing to a cafe racer is appreciated-the difficulty would be finding a tank and seat combo to fit, and relocating the rear set due to the exhaust.
Cheers guys!
