Hello. I just found dtt about a week ago. My normal ride is a stock '08 sportster and I was debating hacking that up or buying a vintage something and hacking it up to make a cafe. My neighbor had a cb550 purchased under scrupulous conditions (no title, only $300). We took it out (school parking lot) about a year ago, and it sounded/rode sweet.

I've been worried the bike was stolen, but wanted to buy it. I 'accidently' tricked geicko into giving me a vin check during an insurance quote. She said it didn't show up on the national database as stolen or salvage. I decided to buy it. I will prob do the Maine title trick, as I have heard horror stories on taxes in CA. This bike is not on the grid on the CA database that I know of, but am afraid to risk even asking because they may hit me up for a random $500 tax bill.

So here's the bike. Its a '75 CCB supersport (engine vin does NOT match frame vin). Someone wrecked it at some point cause the chrome is SCRATCHED bad. leaks oil out of drain-bolt hole. The battery is a spent harley battery sitting there for testing purposes (gadz- hd batteries are like $200). I am not sure where to start, but I think a good old fashioned washing is in order and some 3m pads on spokes.

I love the DTT site, but may not be a heavy poster. I will do my best to get it running and then cafe'ing it out.

Thanks.
