Hello Everyone. I figured I would take the time to introduce myself finally after lurking around for a bit getting ideas.

I came into possesion from a friend i.e Free, a 1979 Honda CM400A motorcycle. It was her partners and it had been sitting on the side of her house for about 2 years. She got tired of looking at it so if I wanted it, it was mine. Well I accepted it and now its sitting on the side of my house lol. It's not running and somethings are missing after it appears to have been scavenged a little by her neighbors.

My plans are to turn it into a bobber and have fun with it. It's my first bike ever so I figured might as well use this opportunity to learn about them and how to fix them myself.

I will post some pictures of it later on when I get home so I can get them off my phone.

*UPDATE*

Here are the Photo's I promised

If anyone else is close around here in Kansas, I would love to get a second opinion on it first hand, see if she would be worth fixing up or giving up for parts. I know the carbs were off when I got her so I have been told the moisture getting into the engine probably isnt a good thing. I know the inside of the tank is quite rusty as well but like I said... It was free and came with a clean title too.

More from me later.

Welcome to DTT.

Do a quick rundown on the bikes condition.

-Check compression
-Make sure it shifts through the gears
-Get a 12v battery and check the electrics
-Visually inspect the wiring for any "fixes"
