Greetings from Vancouver Island

Ok it’s time to stop lurking and start participating.
I guess I’m considered a returning motorcyclist as it’s been several (many) years since I was last on a bike. You know the usual marriage / house/ kids. I wouldn’t change anything but it’s time to get back on two wheels. The idea to make an inexpensive Japanese Café Racer started a couple of years ago which eventually led me to this site. I have to admit that when I first came up with the Idea I had no idea so many people were already doing it. You people have amazed me with your project builds. My original idea of a set of clubman’s and a humped seat seems kind of lame now. Thanks for the inspiration. I guess I’m going to have to try harder.

Thanks for the greet! Sorry I was busy for a couple of days. Yeah the island is a beautifull place and has some amazing roads. You know if your into the twisty hugging the shore kind of roads. The weathers not to bad either, +10 celsius. It's hard to work on your bike when it seams that everyone else is out riding. I have to keep reminding myself that its only the beginning of march.
I'll try to post a starting picture. By the way I'm working on a 1981 XS 400 SH.
