GS Side Covers

I have a 1981 GS750L that didn't come with side covers. I'm cant find the exact ones that say they're for a '81. But I like the older 77-79 ones anyway. Does anyone know if they'll direct fit without modification?

The "L" was kinda unique. Not sure if other models will fit the stock mounting even within the same year.

If I remember right, even outher years of "L's" were diffferent. here is an exaple of a 79 L, notice the lower mount is a hole, and it has a bulge open on the leading edge.

While the E models are not nearly as "triangle" shaped the lower mount is much higher...

Here is what the originals I found for my 80 looked like... maybe will help you find out. I can get measurements if you need them.

Those are the ones im looking for. How did you fill in the emblem holes? I dont want the emblems on mine either. I may go with ones from Suzuki. I didn't think about wear on older tabs. Those are the ones I'm looking for.

I put masking tape on the back side and filled them with epoxy. I ground around the hole slightly with a die grinder to give the epoxy something to "Bite" to, then sanded it smooth.

Post some pics. I can look at them. I need front and back. If you can measure between mounting points that'll help also.

These probably won't work for you, but here they are anyway. They have three "studs" on the back side that push in to a grommet. 3 5/8" between centers on the front two, 10 7/8" on centers between the top front and the rear.

Those won't. Mine hooks at the top and has a stud at the bottom. Thanks anyway.
