Howdie. Short time lurker, first time poster here.
I'm currently working on turning the 82 GS450TX I bought when I was 18 into more of a cafe/brat sort of look.
The first problem I had was that the tank wasn't what I wanted. I was looking for the boxier look. Aftermarket didn't really seem like a route I wanted to try, and so I decided to pick up the tank from the 80 GS450E. Much better on price, and I was hoping that it was going to be a complete drop in.

I was completely wrong, needless to say.
The coils are in the way, and the little rubber donuts are too wide apart. These can both be solved with some hard modification, but i'd rather not start cutting in to it, and then run into more problems without at least trying to see if anyone has been successful.
