GS450-Where to get rear-sets

I have never looked for rear-sets for your particular bike. But chances are you will need to "make" something work. It's not as difficult as you may think. And once you get in the frame of mind that there isn't a bolt on application. The skies the limit.

Again, there may be a rear-set designed for you bike. But unless a bike is commonly raced in some sort of circuit, it's unlikely...

Best of luck on your search.

I have an 81 and have not been able to find a bolt on application yet either. I have a set from an 06 GSXR that I am currently working on making a pair of adapter plates that will allow me to bolt them to the frame. I plan on using the factory mounting points on the frame to attach the adapters. As soon as I get something worked out I will try to post some pics to try and help.

I have been told the Omar's set would work. However for the money and rumors I had heard about the rask set I decided against them. Actual fitment may or may not take more work then they were worth and for the asking price of Raask or Tarozzi I would want something more plug and play for the money.

I picked up a really nice set of CNC fabbed universal rearsets from K Durgam on DTT Also at www.oldschoolspeed.com. I used the existing mounts and the mounting really wasn't that bad and the look flows well with the lines of the bike. I plan on painting or powedering the mounts black to belnd and flow more with the frame.

I am still at the stage of fabbing up the linkage to the pedals ETC. (a nice benifit to the other two complete sets), but I am thrilled so far. I have also seen quite a few people use GSX rearsets with a few modifications on their GS. Browse the site and GS Resources if you haven't already.

Thank for all the great insight, GK.

No Problem.

I am pleased for with the results I achieved. The work smoothly and look great. If I ever change up the exhaust I may fab some shorter mounts. For now I have good positioning with extra clearence while retaining the brake spring and muffler mounts.

Raask make a set for the gsx400 which should fit onto the gs450 frame. The problem is they are not the best quality, the mounting plate is an ugly lump of ally and the fittings are flimsy. It shouldn't be too difficult to modify the rear sets off a gsxr or similar though. Bear in mind that the brake pedal from a gsxr won't have enough leverage to operate a drum brake.
