GT 125 pistons

Hi!
I'm repairing a Suzuki GT 125 for a friend and we had to replace the pistons, because it was only running on the left one (still managed to do +-80kph ;) ).
When we opened the engine we noticed the bottom of the right piston towards the inlet side was smaller then the left one, ergo it didn't close the inlet port. We ordered new pistons and got a normal one and a smaller one.
So can anyone here explain why suzuki did this, or is it just coincidence?
thx

(I'll upload some pictures later this week)
