GT250 Carbs

Hello all, I have a question regarding carbs on my GT250 that i am hoping someone may be able to help with.

I have a set of original carbs ( mikuni 26mm) but some muppet in all there wisdom thought is would be a great idea to paint them red.
If i can avoid having to remove all the paint would be great, which leads me to my question, I have a set of carbs of a later model GT250 ( mikuni 28mm) not painted.

Can anyone see a major problem with using the 28mm carbs?, they bolt up fine they just use a rubber mount instead of bolting directly to the motor.

I am putting a set of expansion chambers on this bike plus will be running pod style filters so re-jetting was always going to happen.

Any thoughts would be great.

Hi mate, new to all this I am, can you tell me what regulator retifire will work on my gt 250 1976, think iys not working, bike runs fine off the battery but not though the regulator rectifier, please help

Hi Patak..............obviously some setting up required, but you know that. Absolutely no reason the 28's can't be made to work.
