Need some help with identification. Picked these up at the local motorcycle salvage yard. Minimal markings. Odd hubs that look like adapter plates. 100 bucks. Was I taken as the fool I truly am?
Definitely Morris Mag wheels. Measure the axles. I'd guess KZ, or CB750.BurdetteDR said:19" front 17" rear
. If they are for a CB, you're golden. If they are for a Kawasaki, you're in for a real treat trying to adapt them. It's possible, as I've just finished a KZ/GPZ swap on my CB750 for the stock Kawi version of that mag. But you'll be throwing several bikes at it along with sleeves and spacers.BurdetteDR said:I haven't measured them, but I just chucked up the rear in a frame I have for mockup. I'm wondering if it's worth adapting to my cb550 or just sell them. Rear looks like spacers would do it, besides of course adapting a rear caliper bracket and master cylinder for disk. I'll have to take a closer look at the front tomorrow.
How does one go about Crack testing? Never seen or heard of it doneteazer said:Good find, now get them cleaned up and crack tested before you paint them or use them on a bike. If they are magnesium, the issue is that they age harden and can crack, so they must be tested.
