Guzzi V50 Mk3 un-bridging the brakes help needed

I've ordered the front lever that will allow 2 banjo bolts and be able to utilize both brake discs. What I've been told is the rear brake will be more difficult to engage and feel like a board. Does anyone know what master cylinder I could use that would be smaller than the stock master?

Are you trying to use the front lever to engage both the front AND rear brakes? Im not so sure what you're getting at here...

Get the front lever to engage both front disks. Right now the front lever does the right caliper and the rear lever does the left caliper and rear one.

I haven't been in the game for too long, but ive been around cars/bikes/tractors etc my whole life, and I have never seen or heard of a set up like that.
The lever for the front brakes should apply both front brakes...and the rear master should do JUST the rear brake.

Linked braking systems are common on larger bikes and cruisers. Honda's GL's ST's all used them at some point. They basically engage one disc on the front when you use the rear brake. It is meant to prevent a panic stop from turning into a fishtail.

You can use a splitter in the front (one brake line to the splitter then one brake line to each front caliper) or use a specialized bolt in the master and run both lines directly from the master. You can also use a specialized bolt on one of the calipers, run one hose to the right caliper and then a short hose up and over to the left.

I'm not sure I understand why unlinking them would make the rear brake feel "like a board" though. I suppose you're moving less fluid though (only moving one piston, not two) so it would take less lever travel to engage the brake. If that's the case then you need to go smaller on your rear brake master piston.

What size is it now?

From what I understand is there's little modulation on the brake because it's 15mm doing one disk instead of 2. On top of that this Guzzi model has a funky brake set up to activate the cylinder. Was hoping someone would know the cylinder I would need to replace it with to account for the over engineered set up.

somewhere here someone posted a chart for pistons slave to master sizes
or maybe it was over at calf racer :-[

This might be some help!

But why are you changing the set-up? It works quite well once you get used to it.

I was going to keep it on there but when I removed the big guzzi plate that held the blinkers and headlight, it also held an external master cylinder. I didn't have anywhere to put it and I was going to replace all the brake lines with braided lines.
