h2 racer kawayamazuki!

Hey Trev,
I've just read the entire thread and must say you are a deserving winner of BOTM.
I love the minimalist look you've gone for and it must be a fucking hoot to ride.
Congratulations, Great work.

I was hoping to have some exciting dyno results for ya today but we had isues with noise and getting a clean RPM signal, so no results. I got a cool video though!
anyone ever experience this? we tried getting a signal from both the trigger to the coil and from the spark plug wire.

thanks, its an aftermarket rotor for an 88 fzr 1000 or 750. its a galfer wave rotor copy.

We had that problem a few times on different bikes, so we have a bunch of graphs with HP versus MPH and some versus RPM and it's not easy to compare them for sure.

I'm usually most interested in the shape of the curve and to see if changes moved the curve up or down or not at all.

My only experience with RF was when I swapped to the electronic dash. I was able to get it to get rid of the noise with resistor caps but thought in the long run, they would be loading my old iggy just that much more. As a beta tester, I tried Jim's inductive pickup and it worked fine without the resistor caps. I'm not sure if he ever went ahead with production but here is his website if you are interested.

With that said, I wouldn't hesitate to use the resistor caps for just dyno purposes. Not that its accurate but I didn't feel any difference with them on the ole butt dyno anyway...

thanks Walms, I`m actually using Jims regulator, cdi and rectifier already. I spoke with him on the phone last night. He suggested picking up RF chokes from radio shack and trying them.
I`m also using Dyna coils and wires. The Dyna wires i have are the DW 300 (copper core) and a friend suggested changing them to the Dyna DW 800`s they`re a graphite suppression core. I`m going to try that first.

"Dyna suppression core spark plug wires use the highest grade graphite suppression core to reduce electrical noise and increase engine performance "

I thought this bike was done!

i made these chain sliders yesterday

Just read through this whole thing and now I need new pants.

What material did you use for the chain slider, and how is it holding up?

they are nylon and holding up fine.very slippy! i`d recommend going to your local plastics supplier and getting them to cut it to size for you. They can round the edges off, it just makes for a nicer finish.

So friggen cool. No way I could ride that bike legally....

I want a 2-stroke bike so bad but where I live in AZ motorcycles require yearly emissions tests and I know this wouldn't pass. Someday!
