I love the Honda Crown Jewles, the RC166 is my personal favorite, but the design of all the old race bikes was just spot on. I can't wait to see how yours comes out. I too have always wanted one, and have thought about building a tribute bike. This is awesome.
yeah theres something bout the old racebikes got a long way to go yet aint got gazillions of pennys to throw at it but just used the no1 and 2 downpipes from the 4-1 exhaust to make it a 4into 4 set up, cut the downpipes turned em out a little then re-welded back together looks better than I expected piccys to follow, still got to cut off back of frame and weld in hoop, now exhaust is done can pull engine and start detabbing etc thers a company in Czech republic that reproduces exact copies of fairings n tanks for all the old racers, company (moto forza ) bought fairing and screen, just saving for the tank 8) a couple of pics of a quick moc up trying to work out fixing points , and a couple of the the old boy ( john surtees ) riding mike hailwoods bike
the icing on the cake is gonna be the 4 straight thru megaphone exhausts I got earlier she gonna sound like a Sherman tank goin thru a tunnel haha stick with me guys mite be slow progress but ime as interested as you all how she gonna turn out :-\ aint done one of these before ??? lets hope it don't go backwards very fast ;D
Just about sorted the exhausts 4 into 4 need tweaking due to bit of warping from my welding the headers agh ??? will post some pics once my phone is charged treated myself to a small lathe so been making some spacers for front wheel as its a drum brake from a cb360 and some new bronze bushes for swing arm sweet little toy haha seem so far from finish line still I think the project juices starting to flow again just a couple of pics of completed carbs from earlier in the build 8)
not having a centre stand on this one so made a couple of swingarm bobbins so I can use a rear paddock stand when I need to fettle the back end lathe gonna pay for itself at this rate haha :-*
Polished up the internals of the intakes they are real rough as standard from factory 8) you can see the difference from the finished one to the stock one
started to get exhausts positioned ready to make brackets quite pleased how they turned out first time welding tubing used a tig for the first time too once I sought them out I can lift out the motor and start de-tabbing and cutting rear end ready for the rear hoop
