the switces on my cb are in inoperable condition. any reason i can't use the switches from a newer cbr or vfr? blasphemy? probably, but i'm interested in everything working when i need it to.

You can use anything that can switch the circuit. Toggles, other bike switches, the clapper

I prefer licking my fingers and touching 2 wires together while doing 65 down the road.
Seriously though, like Tintin said, you can use any switches as long as you can decipher the wiring to make them work.

between all the piles of parts in some of our sheds Im sure we have you covered. I have a extra set of working cb550 left hand switches myself.
