Just noticed Tim's been registered on here since feb 2, 2007. Does that make today the fifth birthday of the site?? If so, congratulations! What an amazing community you guys have built.
Congrats, I've been a member not long after it started and while I don't post much, I've been grateful to have read and experienced a lot of great things on this forum. It wasn't until this year I met Dr. J and Tim at the Toronto show; Paul (Back Alley Motorcycle) and Loco Leon in I had the pleasure of meeting on Paris, Ontario last year and seriously they are really great guys.
Hoping to meet some more of you fellas I've talked to over the years at Barbers or if Troy will be hosting another get together.
I'm subscribe to a few different forums, (not all motorcycle related) and there isn't an online community quite like this one where freedom of speech truly is free as long as it's constructive and more importantly positive. I'm proud to wear a DTT patch on my jacket
There are a lot of great people that have worked damn hard to make it happen so hat's off to all of you, I feel honoured to be a part of it.
Yep - been 5 years. The first posts were made right at 6PM on Feb 2, 2007. In that time I've migrated software versions a few times and we've been on 3 different hosting providers. Each of those moves was an incredible undertaking, trying to minimize downtime etc.
We've also grown in leaps and bounds, especially in the last couple of years, thanks to strong word of mouth, lots of Google hits on the 350,000 posts of often useful, sometimes funny and ocassionally totally useless information posted, and of course our ever increasing exposure through the bike shows in Toronto, our booth at Barber (THANKS KILEY!) and the increasing number of shows starting to happen around the world that our members are taking DO THE TON to by wearing their patches, setting up booths etc.
The boys from Dime City Cycles continue to support us and are huge fans of the site, and wear the patches proudly on episodes of CRTV... all good stuff.
I've met a ton of incredible people, and look forward to meeting more in the years to come.
It is difficult for me to put into words how special dotheton truly is, there are true Brothers here all sharing information and ideas, taking care of one another, and crafting the most beautiful motorcycles in the world! To honor all of our Brothers here the new DWMS Racing uniforms proudly display the dotheton patch on the left shoulder! HAPPY BIRTHDAY DTT!
Happy Birthday DTT!
I'm proud to be a part of this group, and very thankful to Tim, Dr. J, Loco Leon and the rest, for doing what they have to keep the site going.
Still new here, but I could not have done what I have without the help of this site and the brothers on it. Thanks Tim for all your hard work, I am proud to be part of this.
Happy birthday DTT!
Wow, time really does fly by when you're having fun. Happy Birthday DTT and big thanks to the founders and all the DTT team for making this site possible.
Wow, 5 years. That's pretty amazing. It seems like much longer, because it's hard now to remember a time when I didn't have the guys on this site that I love so much in my life. I know it sounds cheesy, but it's good to have found a place to fit in. And you're welcome Tim. Mine is a small contribution compared to what a lot of you cats have put in, and I'm glad to do it. Here' to many more.
I can't remember how I found this place, but I've been "wasting time" here since Nov, 2007.
Being in the Toronto area, I had the privilege of meeting many of the guys and gals that had so much to do with the early success of DTT. It grew pretty quickly, but who knew it would be THIS big?! ;D
Thanks Tim, Noel and many others who pour their "all" into DTT! We're far better for your efforts! 8)
DTT has been my number one recourse for how to from the moment I fell in love with the cafe racer. Blessed to be a part of such an awesome online motorcycle junky brotherhood. Hope to learn lot more from you rad dudes and to build more bikes in the years to come. ;D
To the 5 years. Cheers..
Happy 5th B-day DTT! Eat and drink too much with family and friends.
I've been aboard since Nov. 1 2007 and have really enjoyed the site, the bikes, the chatter and of course the people. Good to know I am not alone in my vintage cafe racer obsession.
Well look at that, and who says you can't beat the odds. 5 years is quite a feat. Congrats and Happy Birthday to DTT and this band of amazing people. To Tim and company, I can't thank you enough for providing us this priceless resource.
