Coast to Coast
Hey guys, I'm looking at buying a 1976 ss175. Weird questions, but does anyone know if the jugs/cylinder and head off of a ss125 would be a straight swap?

It's looking like it's probably a no, but if anyone has any first hand experience that would be great

What is the stroke on the 2 motors? I know for just a jug/piston/head swap the stroke of the 2 motors needs to be the same or really close or else then you need to change rods and or cranks too.

Yea, not looking like its gonna work.

Bore x stroke on the 125: 56.0 x 50.0 mm (2.2 x 2.0 inches)

on the 175: 61.0 x 59.6 mm (2.4 x 2.3 inches)

Yep if you put the 125 piston and jug on the piston rod and crank is going to try and shove the piston 9.6 mm past the head.

I was getting it for the old lady, and she wants smaller, but maybe I'll get it for myself and go bigger

Ended up getting her a DT100, but I'll probably end up getting myself a 175 or 250 AMF Harley soon. Thanks for the links fellas, good reading
