Having a bobber safetied in Ontario

Hey guys and gals,

First post here. Looks like a great board!

I picked up a CB350 frame, which I’d like to use as the basis for a build, and I have some questions.

Does anybody have any experience getting a bobber or chopper safetied in Ontario?

Surely it has been done, but I was just reading over the inspection criteria - http://www.dotheton.com/forum/index.php?topic=10148.0 - and I’m wondering how/if people get around it.

I’m thinking about criteria like lights, fenders, mirrors, etc., being in place where they originally were. And what about rigid frames, as I think there’s a clause about shocks being in place.

Please share any experience you have getting a custom bike safetied in Ontario.

Thanks!

if its 72 or newer, you need lights, fenders, turnsignals, tailight, brake lights, license plate at the centre-back, and speedo as well as all other mechanicals working for inspection, I dont think they care about the hardtailing.

the only difference is that you dont need turnsignals, you may also not need the brake light, but you do need a tailight, it would be silly and unsafe to go without a brake light.

you need all the rest of the stuff though including the fender.
