Hey all
Just a quick hi from Southern Tasmania
32 years young, father of two husband to one.
Just started riding a motorcycle (well a postie) last year and after modifying that I want to get onto a new bike for a build.
Not having a ton of money but still wanting to get into it early, I've decided I'm going with a modern twist on doing the ton.
I plan on buying a Yamaha Scorpio, and although its an average looking bike the Indonesians have done marvelous things to them (due to their import duties on bigger bikes) and its got me inspired to make a cheap to run, reliable, street tracker or cafe racer out of one. I know its not really a traditional bike, but these things do 120km/h and if you're lucky with a tail wind downhill you'll get 140km/h, so doing the ton (160km/h) on one of those will be quite the challenge, and I'm not entirely sure its possible but it is one I'm looking forward to figuring out
eventually the grail bike would be a Honda 750/4 for something old, and a Kawasaki W800 for something new. But for now I'd like to play with a chuckable little Yammy 225 in the twisties I call home....
Look forward to watching and learning, for the day I get to build my own retro cafe racer
Cheers
