Hello fellas,
My name is Michael, 28, born in Michigan, but grew up in Venezuela (yes.. Ms.Venezuela girls, I know.. hot, but dumb ;) )
I live in Cincinnati, mechanical engineer background. Used to have a 90 FZR400 back in college, fun bike to learn, but sold it years ago.. and just recently got the cafe racer bug.

I found a 70's CB750 locally that might just pick up and hack away at it. Since I am new to the scene, can you guys throw me websites on where to get new / replacement parts for these bikes for cheap? Also, besides custom work, what are the Tank/Seat options out there, I have read about BCR but that's about it...

Input appreciated.. this will be fun! Hope ya'll can guide me in the right direction on this project

Welcome to DTT! If you are looking for websites for replacement parts, you an start with the nice long list of sponsored links to the left, and don't miss the Dime City Cycle banner across the top. Those are some great places to start. From there, I've found parts via Old Bike Barn, Dennis Kirk, and local salvage yards. There are tons of old CBs out there, and you could probably pick up an entire parts bike for a song.

Welcome to the site mmokka!

I agree with what was previously said except......for Old Bike Barn. Google search for reviews of his service to see what I mean.

Excellent, thank you guys ! I am thinking of picking up a 78' CB750K said to be running, advertised for 1K$ but I am going to talk him down. :p

I'll let you know what I pick up as soon as I bring her home

Thanks for the heads up about Old Bike Barn. I've only looked at parts there so far, I haven't actually purchased from him. I have used DCC and Dennis Kirk with great results.

If either of you end up in the Medina/Cleveland area on a Saturday, I would encourage you to check out Cycles R Us' salvage yard. The service people at Cycles R Us have been very helpful and have a great working knowledge of many old bikes (http://www.cyclesrus.net/salvage-yard.php).

Welcome!
Cincinnati here as well. There are a quite a few of us from the city and surrounding area. Make sure you look at cincinnati cafe racers on FB as well as posting up a build thread when you decide on your purchase.
